Everyone has their own nick name and every parent has already considered a beautiful name for their children indeed. Children that are given the name by their parent should be proud because it has a good meaning and it is one of prayer parents give for them but, don't be too happy first. You don't know how long you will be called using your name that is given by your parents. Moreover, you'll realize it when you are socializing and being surrounded by silly people called friends. Having a nick name from our friends is not strange at all. You may be called based on your physical, unique name, etc.
Firstly, in Indonesia, there is a strange nick name which is addressed among teenager especially in elementary school up to senior high school.Unlike in Western that uses family name to call each other, teenagers in Indonesia call their friend using the nick name of their friend's parent, instead of the family name. Although It's so impolite but sometime it sounds so funny. What a kind of low level of bullying, i guess. So, just hide your parent's name and don't let your friends know.
After that, not only your friends, your girlfriend or boyfriend also calls you with name that is not given by your parents. The similarity with your parent is that your girlfriend or boyfriend calls you with name which is nice and beautiful but, the difference is that your girlfriend or boyfriend calls you with name of food like honey or name of animal like bee. Unfortunately, for some reasons, those nick names are not beautiful even it's considered as an embarrassing name, especially for the single one. Yaa.. I can understand why they think it's a shameful name.
Finally, from those statements above, i figure out that a nick name is not always gorgeous, even sometime it becomes so funny. It depends on how we behave against the nick name that is given to us and don't forget to hide your parent's name to avoid our life from bullying.
